Dohrn is currently seeking a Part Time Safety Assistant at our Rock Island, IL corporate office.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 15-20 hours per week
Pay: $19.00/Hour
Position Summary:
To ensure compliance with all state and federal laws regarding Safety, including DOT and OSHA.
Essential Functions:
• Maintain accurate files/records
• Gather scanned documentation
• Maintain DOT recordable accident records and all documents required
• Work directly with Zurich insurance and Fleet Safety using professional communication
• Oversee the safety training files to ensure all required initial and recurrent training is completed
• Audit hours of service
• Maintain DOT Inspection reports through communication with the shop
• Perform other duties as needed
Minimum Requirements:
• Valid Driver License
• High School completion or equivalent
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word
• Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem-solver
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work in a team environment or independently
• Excellent attendance
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
• Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
• May be occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
• The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc;
• Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
• Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
• Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; will be exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
