Responsibilities

PURPOSE:

To supervise the hourly Human Resources staff members; partner with Department and Terminal management, and to assist the Director of Human Resources as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Oversee the activities of the Human Resource Administrative staff (including coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, and performance reviews)
  • Train and develop Human Resources Administrative staff to advance their skills
  • Develop and support many reports/queries and analyze, evaluate and interpret data from key HR software systems and other sources
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement benefits and other personnel packages
  • Works with recruiting team on hiring initiatives/trends
  • Partners with HR Business Partner and HR Generalist on complex investigations
  • Oversee essential HR audits as needed
  • Answer employee inquiries and provide excellent customer service
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee data in multiple data bases and software systems
  • Perform disciplinary investigations and draft corrective action documents
  • Administer Office Hourly Employee and Maintenance Performance Appraisal program
  • Actively participate in Engagement Survey process and implementations of engagement programs
  • Assists the Director of Human Resources on the HR Action Plan
  • Complete responses, attend hearings, and perform other functions in the unemployment process
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings as required
  • Draft and design written communication and company postings
  • Coordinate and oversee company events
  • Manage the maintenance of personnel records in compliance with laws
  • Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Manage multiple duties simultaneously
  • Complete various special projects as needed
  • Provide assistance to the Director of Human Resources
  • Crosstrain and assist in any HR functions as needed or required
  • Perform other duties as needed

 

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Valid Driver License

·         4-year degree and 2 years’ experience in Business, HR or other related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

·         SHRM-CP or PHR preferred

·         Supervisory experience required

·         Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

·         Excellent typing and data entry skills preferred

·         Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem-solver

·         Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and react to change productively

·         Advanced computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple computer systems

·         Ability to work on tasks independently or in a team environment

·         Excellent attendance

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time for training, meetings, or on-site visits.
  • Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
  • May be occasionally required to exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc;
  • Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
  • Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers

Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others

Pay Range

Starting from USD $75,000.00/Yr.
