Dohrn is currently seeking a Part Time Diesel Technician at our Rock Island, IL Terminal.

Pay is $24/Hour
Position Summary:
To assist with labor in the Fleet Maintenance shop.
Essential Functions:
• Learn to Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fleet equipment safely and correctly;
• Conducts failure analysis, repairs, and rebuilds fleet equipment components correctly;
• Informs management about housekeeping opportunities, harmful working conditions, and unsafe work practices, and suggests corrective actions;
• Identifies and informs management of broken tools and missing supplies required for performing repairs on fleet equipment, and takes steps to solve issue if possible;
• Correctly completes work orders and documents;
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety and compliance;
• Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
Minimum Requirements:
• A minimum age of 18
• High School completion or equivalent
• Valid Driver License
• Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• Must pass a NON-Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen NOTE: CDL-qualified mechanics will be subject to a DOT physical examination

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
• Weekend and night hours occasionally required.
• Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
• Subject to both environmental conditions: activities occur inside and outside. Outside work may be in extreme weather conditions.
• The general office environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Environment includes co-workers talking on the phone within close proximity.
• Subject to: standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Subject to noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.

• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operate machines and motor vehicles.
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eye; and regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor.
• Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
